Apple Dessert Pizza with Apricot Glaze

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 190C. Put the pizza base on a baking tray.

After peeling and coring the apples, cut them into fine slices. Starting at the outer edge and working toward the centre, arrange the slices on the pizza base, overlapping slightly in smaller and smaller circles until the surface is covered. The apple layer should be at least as thick as the pizza base.

Combine sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Sprinkle mixture evenly over apples and bake about 30 minutes, or until crust is golden brown.

Combine apricot jam and apple juice in a small saucepan and cook over low heat, until the jam dissolves. To serve, remove the pizza from the oven, brush with warm apricot glaze and cut into 8 pieces.

Bazaar Tips

 

Tip: For a more indulgent alternative, substitute apple juice with orange liqueur.

4 Golden Delicious or Granny Smith apples,

1/4 cup sugar

3/4 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 cup apricot fruit jam (sugar-free)

1 tblsp apple juice
