Garlic Bread

Italians have taken a simple accompaniment to pasta and other dishes, creating a modern classic. Traditionally fresh Italian bread or a Mediterranean baguette is sliced toward the bottom but not completely separated. Butter, garlic and olive oil are spread into the slices. The bread is lightly baked in an oven or gently toasted under the grill.
